Wendy's History and Education

Wendy was born in 1970 into a boisterous family of eight brothers and sisters and two loving parents. Her initial two years were spent in Nashwaaksis before the family moved to Keswick Ridge. Keswick Ridge School was where Wendy received her initial education. In 1986, Wendy moved with her family to Clyde River, Nova Scotia where she attended Shelburne High School, graduating in 1988.

Wendy received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree from Acadia University in May, 1993. With a passion for helping people, and knowing the value of education, Wendy returned to Acadia to obtain her Bachelor of Education degree in 1995.

In September, 1997, Wendy started as a teacher and guidance counsellor at Barrington Municipal High School. In 2003, Wendy received a one-year leave from the High School to pursue her Master of Education (Counselling) degree at Acadia University. Wendy completed her Master's degree studies in June 2004, and returned in September to Barrington High to teach and to help students.

On June 26, 2004, Wendy and Brian Eisener were married in a lovely outdoor ceremony at Wendy's Clyde River home. Wendy's father and other family members had prepared a wonderful garden setting for the wedding. Colourful flowers and loving family and friends made this day very special for everyone involved.

A poster hung on the wall in Wendy's office (an 87 KB .jpg image of the poster is here), with the following words that characterized Wendy's life:

If you want to be happy for an hour,
GO WATCH T.V.

If you want to be happy for a day,
GO TO AN AMUSEMENT PARK.

If you want to be happy for a lifetime,
GO OUT AND HELP OTHERS.

During the period of March 15 to March 20, 2005, family members gathered around Wendy's bed to share funny and happy stories with her. Brian was by Wendy's side during her entire hospital stay. We will always cherish our time on earth with Wendy.
